Cope is a wearable AI device to help track and identify when, where, and why triggers induced by trauma occur. It utilizes a combination of both Artificial Intelligence and onboard sensors (heart rate, ESR, etc.) to parse environmental factors and offer real-time suggestions for how to avoid future triggers.

This allows our user-base to not only minimize future triggers, but also gain insights into what triggers them and where they are triggered most.

I was a UX Designer on this project and primarily focused on both the end-to-end design process, as well as UI Design, and production of the Vision Video.

The Solution

The Solution

Cope is an app designed to support trauma recovery by enhancing self-awareness and encouraging proactive coping. Using a wearable AI device called "Copilot" or a compatible smartwatch, Cope tracks and identifies trauma-related triggers by analyzing environmental sounds and vital signs when activated.

Triggers are sorted by date and type (auditory, visual, or physical), allowing users to add personal insights, helping the AI learn. Based on patterns in the data, Cope suggests tailored coping strategies that evolve over time. It can also sync with calendars and texts to alert users about potential triggers in upcoming events.

Meet your "Copilot"

Copilot is an alternative lower cost version that allows non-smartwatch owners access a system to self-manage their trauma recovery.

Trauma management starts here.

The cope app aggregates trends seen in the user’s trigger responses on the landing screen. These trends are visualized in bubbles that shrink and expand proportional to the frequency of impact. This fluctuation in size gently and nonintrusively guides users to see what areas they can focus and improve upon.

Hardware ↔ Software Integration

The mobile app allows users to gain a deeper look into their triggers when they're ready.

Cope integrates with the users calendar so it can recommend alternatives to potentially triggering situations. For instance, if your trigger is the sound of a drill because you hurt your hand, maybe schedule that meeting somewhere else than a coffee shop if the burr grinder makes a similar sound that triggers you.

Trauma be warned.

Copilot utilizes a industry-leading combination of Artificial Intelligence and onboard sensors such as: Heart rate, ESR, Body Temperature, Blood Oxygen, etc. It parses environmental factors to offer real-time suggestions for how to avoid future triggers.
